808 update

I was planning on going to the beach today, but it was soo cloudy! Due to bad weather conditons (more rain) we took the day off for soccer, so me and a few other girls went to the fitness center and did our own workout. Mich and I have been filling out our forms for physicals coming up on August 1st! All the athletes have to get them and they usually take about an hour so I'm glad they gave us the paper work ahead of time because that's what usually takes the longest.

Tonight I am going to Kahi's and the fam is helping Vanston make shave ice somehwere. I don't know all the details but I wanted to help.

Tomorrow I am running in a 3 mile race with all the military men and women at Kahi's work. Kahi and I are leaving at 4am and the race is at 7 but it takes an hour to get to town and then she is working the race which means we have to be there early. Me and four of my friends had planned a catamaran cruise, but I just found out the boat has not finished inspection so it is pushed back to next week! So I guess we'll just stay in town and go to Waikiki or something!

Last night I talked to Beau on the phone! I called around 10:30p.m. He had a lot of people over at his house so it wasn't a long conversation. It was good to hear his voice! I am really excited that he's home and hope that we can skype soon!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA TOMORROW!!

Love you

Britt

This is the day Kahi went through the temple! Pu'uwai, Quaylee and I were taste testing the stew to make sure it was good before everyone came out! The last pic is of her cousin, Ku and her sister Pu'uwai.

The New Condo!

So this is the condo! I love coming home. It feels like a beach house. I'll get more pics up of the outside. The beach is right in the backyard! For the past week it's just been me and mich (Kim) because natalie is staying with her family at Turtle Bay and there's no fourth roommate yet!

Back in Hawaii!

I wanted to keep my family updated while Im in Hawaii, but most of the time I don't post everything on facebook and here it will just be for family and close friends. I'll keep you updated on when my games are coming up, how school is going and everything else. This is a way just to be more personable with people Im the closest to.

I have now been in Hawaii since July 14th. The first week I stayed with my "Hanai" (adopted) family, the Ah Pucks. I have been at the beach, spending time with her family and going to work with Kahi. She works at the military base called Camp Smith in town. I was able to see what she does at work. We also got to use the facilities which was my favorite part. That included the pool, weight room and rec. center. We spent our days working out, watching movies in the theatre, playing ping pong and going to the beach. One morning I dropped her off at work and decided to spend a day in Waikiki by myself. It was beautiful!

I have been going to church with the Ah Pucks for two weeks now and I love it. Kahi and I teach the young women. The 7th and 8th grade girls. I would really love to stay in this ward and mentor these girls because young womens single handedly made a difference in my life. I know what its like to be a teenager and not being sure of yourself or not really know where your testimony is and young womens really made an impact in my life. I want them to have the same, good experience that ultimately led me to where I am today.

Before church 2 weeks ago Kahi's family and I watched the final game for the US Women's Soccer team. Luckily church started at 12 so we got to watch the whole game! Her family likes to be 30min early to visit and feel the spirit. I really like that because I have time to read my scriptures and just think about the week and get in a good mindset.

Kahi's mom and dad are my young single adult teachers. They give amazing lessons and its nice to be in their with Kahi and her brother.

On Sunday Kahi received her endownment at the Laie temple. I was so grateful to be included with her family on that day. It was a hectic morning. I dropped Pu'uwai, Kahi's sister, off at basketball practice, went home and got ready then picked her up and drove back to their house. Since we couldn't go inside the temple we were in charge of bringing all the food to the temple grounds to celebrate afterwards. Me and her brothers ad sisters were hurrying to get the food ready and also their two nephews. We got their at 11:00am and they came out around 11:45. Her family and friends were there to celebrate with her!

Last week Thursday it was back to classes! I am taking two hard classes. Applied social statistics and English 315.

I am so excited for my senior year. Not only to graduate but to have an amazing soccer season! This is the light at the end of the tunnel! Wow, I almost have BYU Hawaii under my belt!

I have been preparing and working hard for two-a-days, but I think last week I pushed it too far. Over the weekend I was so fatigued and extremely tired.

Last night I was laying in my bed thinking about Grandpa and just miss him being in my life. But I know he is always with me enjoying the beach and all. I'm really going to need him and Heavenly Father these next couple weeks with two-a-days coming up.

I love you all so much! Talk to you soon!
